You control a robot that has been taken underground by unknown forces. Unmechanical is first and foremost a puzzle game. Nothing makes me happier then seeing small development teams try to push for something much larger and in the process create a game that transcends being a game. With so many different ways to approach Unmechanical, as there is nothing that players are being forced to look at or understand, there is room to hold discussions about this game beyond the game that help us enrich our experience of it. Much like any form of art, meaning is derived from how the player feels and what they witnesses. What I presumed to be a game about clashing forces, ended up being more of a mutual symbiosis between the two. In the centre of all this is a beating heart that is being kept alive by all the machines around it. Tunnels have been caved out of underground lakes, while buildings have been digested by giant organisms. When players start to delve deeper into the game's underground, they find a mix of both organic and industrial, further highlighting the contrast between the two. A natural environment, filled with rolling green hills is overshadowed by a booming industrial landscape in the background. From the opening moments, the player is introduced to two clashing themes. This involves constructing a new village, gathering resources (and new Invizimals) to defeat their foe.Unmechanical is a puzzle game that has an incredibly strong emphasis on its art and themes.

Offering a host of new capture mechanics (read: ways to find new Invizimals) The Alliance extends the PSP game's color and architecture detection by taking advantage of the higher resolution camera and greater horsepower in the Vita.Īlong with these capture mechanics sits a strategy game where players are tasked with guiding the Invizimals to a new safe-haven following the arrival of a new enemy. Whereas the Invizimals Shadow Zone cards had 229 cards split between 131 common cards and 98 foils, the new deck offers a whopping 460 cards - and I suspect around 190 foils. The Hidden Challenges cards have upped the stakes in terms of the number of cards.

As with other Panini collections is seem that you will get one foil card in each pack. It all worked very smoothly and without a hiccup.

I had a chance to open some Invizimals Hidden Challenges packs and get them in front of the Android app at E3, running on a rather smart Sony tablet. This is already available in Spain, where the cards and Hidden Challenges apps have been tested out.

I know that my kids will be putting pocket-money and savings towards more than a few of these foil "blind" packs to work on their collections when they are released here.It's worth noting that when your collections are nearly finished you can send off for particular cards to complete it.

Turn them over and they have an AR mark on the back that lets you bring the character into your collection on the Invizimals Hidden Challenges apps. As with the Shadow Zone cards for the PSP Invizimals game, these cards also have a functional benefit over similar offerings.
